چکیده

Abstract A 75 kg, 4‐year‐old, male, neutered, Saanen‐cross, pet‐owned, adult goat presented for left trochlear sulcoplasty treatment of lateral patellar luxation. Premedication consisted intravenous butorphanol (0.2 mg/kg), and midazolam (0.5 mg/kg, intravenous), followed by ketamine (2 intravenous) propofol induction anaesthesia. Anaesthesia was maintained using isoflurane in oxygen (100%) mechanical ventilation started. An ultrasound‐guided saphenous sciatic nerve block with 0.1 mL/kg ropivacaine 0.75% 0.25%, respectively, performed. uneventful, except a transient period hypotension nociceptive reaction during skin suture. Recovery uneventful. No motor observed this combination concentrations. Buprenorphine (0.01 initiated (twice daily first day; once second third day) 6.5 hours after the due to discomfort. Correction of patellar luxation by recession sulcoplasty in three foals.

Lateral luxation of the patella in four femoropatellar joints of three foals was repaired by recession sulcoplasty and medial imbrication of the joint. One foal was euthanatized because of septic arthritis caused by incisional dehiscence, and the other two foals were normal 2 years after surgery. Recession sulcoplasty combined with medial imbrication of the joint capsule resulted in a functiona...
